A note from Matt:
When I first started reading material about Medicare, I was really surprised.  I was surprised because I was having a tough time grasping the structure and differences of all the Medicare components.  I was surprised because given my background as a financial advisor, where I’ve dealt with intricate investment and insurance products, it struck me as puzzling that Medicare could be so convoluted. How can Medicare be this complicated?

Unfortunately, much of the educational material presents this information all jumbled together, mixing parts and plans, which complicates matters further. It’s nearly impossible to gain clarity when everything is thrown at you without simple options. Explaining aspects such as costs, coverage, eligibility and enrollment timelines (C’s and E’s) within just one basic pamphlet proves to be challenging.

However, understanding Medicare is straightforward when explained correctly. There’s a clear progression for learning about both Medicare and its associated plans—what I refer to as “the C’s and E’s,” which encompass Costs (C), Coverage (C), Eligibility (E), and Enrollment (E). Here’s an example of how you can begin navigating through your choices regarding Medicare:

Steps to Success

Step 1 – A concise introduction to Medicare Parts A and B; the foundation of your future health insurance.

Step 2 – An exploration of what is excluded from coverage under Parts A and B; identifying the gaps.

Step 3 – An outline detailing available Medicare Insurance options designed to fill those gaps.

Step 4 – A conversation focusing on the C’s (costs & coverage) & E’s (eligibility & enrollment) connected with these Insurance plans. Plan benefits like dental, vision, hearing and other benefits like gym memberships.

By completing these steps, most individuals feel confident in selecting their preferred plan for enrollment.

If you’re prepared to start the Medicare process, I encourage you to set up an online meeting so we can navigate these steps together. The sessions are engaging, allowing for spontaneous questions. The meetings are tailored to incorporate your unique situation into the provided information.
